I can honestly say that this has been the best decision I have made since coming to college. Were not just another club. Were not just another organization. We truly are a unique brotherhood, and I guarantee that you cannot get that anywhere else.

In addition to being the President of this fraternity, I also work 20-25 hours per week, and have taken the maximum course load (18 credits) 3 of the past 4 semesters. In May 2007, I began working as an intern in the BlackRock Summer Analyst Program, and continued to work there over the school year. For 2008, I have accepted a Summer Analyst position at TD Securities, where I will be working within the Investment Banking division. In many ways, I owe much of my academic and professional achievements to my involvement in the Pi Delta Psi Fraternity here at NYU.

Life at NYU is great. Had it not been for this University, I would not have met Angie. Yes, shes very special to me. I have a strong passion for hip hop dance and have taken advantage of the opportunities offered at this school to express it. I like eating Red Mango, watching movies, going to the beach and spending time with Angie.

At first I was not sure why I wanted to join Pi Delta Psi perhaps just a curious mind. However, after becoming a member, I realized that it had given me confidence and a professional mind. Whether its helping out at home or interning, these qualities allow me to perform my best and surpass limitations.

At the young age of twenty, Kevin Q lives life on the edge. A young man on the rise who learned early to be a daredevil, his primary goal in life is to explore, and this exploration knows no bounds. Currently an Economics major at NYU, Kevin aspires to launch his own business(es) in the near future.

A man of many talents, Kevin finds self-fulfillment in weight training, acting for film and singing. He will one day take over the world, or at the very least, your underpants.

Kevin pledged PDPsi during Spring of 2007 with Peidi, Kai & Derrick, and admits that it was one of the most rewarding experiences in his life. In an interview, he commented that the greatest thing he got from the pledging process was mental development and he recommends it to people from all walks of life.

Why I pledged Pi Delta Psi? I have no other reason than the fact I love the brothers who are in Pi Delta Psi. Yea, we're all pretty different. We don't always hang out with each other 24/7 and we all have our own group of friends outside the fraternity but we know we have someone there to support us when we're in need whether it's just someone to hang out with to talk to or something more. Anybody can hang out with someone when they're both having a good time but it takes a lot to be there for someone when they're in times of sadness and unhappiness. Yea, you can say that all Asian fraternities are kind of similar... and yea, it's true... We all throw parties and we all do community service... but I can guarantee you that the feelings and relationships that you find in Pi Delta Psi will be second to none.

A big part of college is making friends who will open up new opportunities for you. Anything from The Finance Society to Webster Hall is a constructive use of time. Im not saying you have to spend you time on Pi Delta Psi, but dont complain that theres nothing to do, since youre reading this right now and Im telling you Pi Delta Psi is one fantastic opportunity. I was blessed with the opportunity to interview several NYU students for jobs at my company. Among 2 of the Sternies both with 3.6, I immediately cut the one who didnt join any clubs and seemed like he dabbled in video games. The other held some position at BAP(Another fraternity), and I almost hired him, but instead I hired a Sternie who started 3 companies on his own previously, a Tisch student majoring in Film who was fun and easy to get along with, and an Asian chick who was previously a top cosmetics supply saleswoman accompanied by a 3.8 GPA. Send me a email if you got any questions. Best of luck whatever you decide to do.

I enrolled here at NYU because I wanted to challenge myself in a very complex way. I wanted to put myself in a place where I did not feel comfortable in at first because of the numerous activities and overall business that makes one feel like one ant from the hill.

As for the reasons I pledged Pi Delta Psi, there is not much to say more than I liked the bros. I pledged because I did not want to disappoint anyone and along the way, I have learned many valuable lessons. Being the youngest and only freshman in my pledge class, I realized some of my capabilities in being a leader and to never give up. At the time, Pi Delta Psi was my chance to escape from some of the inner demons in my life, but now it has grown to be an important aspect of my identity. PK Thunder!

These days, the first thing I tell people is that I go to NYU and that I am willing to sell my soul to end up sitting behind one of the hallowed trading desks at one the of the top financial firms in the country. The first thing that comes to mind when I actually think about it is that I like tennis, movies and playing poker

I rushed reluctantly, unhappy about the prospect of turning down hopeful brothers who undoubtedly expected me to follow in the footsteps of friend and rush. Unfortunately I wasnt the fraternity type and I was sure to disappoint many people.

Im still not quite sure what happened, but lets say that I was charmed by many of the brothers. They were clearly many standard deviations away from what I would have labeled the fraternity type. They held themselves with a dignity that engendered a very genuine admiration. I rushed I crossed and I became good friends with everyone while having a great time.

Incrediberry

When I went to my first rush event, I had no intention of pledging. I had these stereotypes of what college Greek life was like and I didnt want to be a part of that. How times have changed. The main reason I pledged Pi Delta Psi was because I really liked the people in the fraternity. Come out to a rush event and youll see why.

Pledging for me was a great and unforgettable experience. It has taught me that the borders of impossible are quite flexible and that nobody really knows what theyre truly capable of.

Ive held jobs at DBRS in U.S. Structured Finance, Morgan Stanley in Global Wealth Management, and BlackRock doing Mutual Fund Accounting. During the pledging process, I worked 15-20 hours a week and achieved a high GPA, so time is definitely not a problem. I invite you to come out to our rush events. Even though Im not going to be there, Im sure youll find some bros youll really bond with and decide that this is the path you want to take.

Bananana

I came to New York University to get a break from the west coast. It was a decision I have not regretted as I have met my current roommates and great friends through PDPsi. Being part of this brotherhood is a notion of comfort for me. Especially in this city that can sometimes be banananas!, it is nice to have a strong group of friends.

I have worked at takeoutMARKETING for the past year and still do. It is a small marketing firm that does a lot of stuff involving music. I am the current social chair for Pi Delta Psi so if any of you guys or gals wanna hang, Im the guy to get a hold of.

If you are looking for a challenge, looking to meet new people, or just want to have some fun, Pi Delta Psi is the place for you. We are all really easy-going guys who place just as much importance on academics as well as social life. With those two goals in mind, we all help each other become successful people in life.

About me? Well, Im a decent guy and like to joke around a lot and make others laugh. I chose to come to NYU because of its diversity and great academics. Im currently on the E-Board of the Asian Cultural Union, one of the largest and most popular Asian clubs at NYU, where we promote and host cultural events such as Chinese New Year, Lunar Festival, and the ACE fashion show. If you havent checked our events out yet, youre surely missing out on a great time.

Pi Delta Psi is always another part of my college life that has had a positive influence. At first, I had no clue that I would be doing Greek life, but some of my close friends and I decided that if we were going to join a fraternity, we would do it together. And thats what being part of a brotherhood is about: doing things together, supporting, and having fun all at the same time. Were definitely one of the chilliest ones out there and it makes us stand out.

Born and raised in the island of Guam, I grew accustomed to a simple life. Life in Guam is very slow paced. Its a laid back environment where everyone takes their time in everything. Wanting more, I set my sights for the big city. This is why I chose to enroll in the New York University College of Arts and Science. I am majoring in Psychology, but also studying pre-medicine.

Everything is just so very fast paced and nonstop in New York City. Without a campus, NYU is much dispersed. Its difficult to get a hang of things at first. Its also difficult to make it alone. This is why I decided to pledge for Pi Delta Psi. After meeting the brothers, I knew that they would always have my back when I needed them. The brothers of Pi Delta Psi are amazing people. They are different in many ways, but one way they are all the same is that they truly care.

Coming to a place like NYC to live and study is amazing. The entire city is my playground, from Chinatown to Midtown to Downtown...there's always something to do. It's definitely a change of pace from high school life and the suburbs of Virginia in general.

There is no doubt that joining PDPsi and the brotherhood is one of the best decisions I've made in college. It's the people, the camaraderie, and the spirit of the organization that matters the most and I felt a strong connection to it. The experiences and leadership opportunities of PDPsi truly allows one to achieve "Excellence through Brotherhood."

In enrolling at NYU, I wanted a new challenge. Until college, I had never had many Asian friends, never knew much about my culture, so my main goal heading into college was to learn more of my heritage and make more Asian friends, haha. In addition, I wanted to engulf myself into activities which would benefit me in the long run.

Thats why I pledged Pi Delta Psi.

In the beginning all the brothers told me how they loved being a brother of PDPsi and I just thought they were bullshittin cuz they wanted me to pledge, but afterwards I feel like Ive been elevated to a different stature. The confidence and pride I have gained are seriously crazy man. Its like havin 10 other dudes behind you watchin your back and supporting you like the columns of a building.

I owe a lot to PDPsi.

High School is also where I learned to appreciate more about Asian culture, especially my own. To know how a culture exists and why it exists teaches us the foundations of it and allows us to be proud of it, specifically of our own. This is why I pledged Pi Delta Psi.

Pi Delta Psi allows me to explore my own culture, as well as other cultures, deeply and profoundly. Once I met the brothers, I was a bit skeptical, but a short chat with them led me to believe that they are just what I was looking for; a group of guys who could teach me more about what I believe in, as well as actively participating in that same conceptunity.

After being accepted into NYU, I tried to balance my life with swimming, academics, and other cultural clubs. I met the brothers of Pi Delta Psi and, after careful consideration, realized these were men that were trustworthy, honorable, and comfortable to be around with. Thus, I pledged Pi Delta Psi.

Although most people believe fraternities are all about drinking and partying, Pi Delta Psi is a brotherhood of men who are focused on academic excellence and greater awareness of Asian culture. Not only that, we also give back to the community with numerous philanthropy and service events. Simply put, we work hardand play hard.

Since he is from China, fraternity is a brand new thing to him. He just wants to figure out what a fraternity is at the beginning. However, the mentality that keeps him to go through the whole process is that he wants to improve himself. Furthermore, he wants to keep himself more culturally awared.

Born in Queens NY and lived in Taiwan for the first two years of my life. I dont remember anything about it but I think thats why I can understand bits and pieces of Taiwanese dialect when I hear it. Then I moved back to queens and lived there on after. I applied to a bunch of colleges and I chose NYU because its the place to be.

I pledged because my older brother is in Pi Delta Psi and said it was fun. Oh it was fun alright. Like many say, its the best thing you never want to do again. And Ive got to say, thats total bullshit because I just want to get pledged all over again!!!!!!! So whoever is reading this, all I have this to say to you all is Come pledge its worth your while!

I pledge because one of the bros gave me some free chicken, damn! Those were some Good Ass Chicken! Props to Brother Razor. AY baby!!!

On a more serious note, If youre someone comes from out of state that has no idea about New York City like me, Pi Delta Psi will give you a feeling of family and support. if you been here all your life, this will be a great addition to your life. Anyways, theres not much to said about me, except I got major swagmajor southern swagger of all times! Of All times! I was born in Vancouver, Canada, but I currently reside in Westlake Village California. I am Chinese and from the Sichuan province, which is of course the best province, and I love our spicy food more than anything. The only thing almost as good is In-N-Out which I miss so much and anyone who says Five Guys or The Shake Shack is a suitable replacement has no taste buds. I am an avid soccer fan and love my Blues, but I will talk to you even if you say your favorite team is Manchester United. I am also a crazy Lakers fan and know like all sensible people that the best player in the NBA is Kobe Bryant.

Pledging Pi Delta Psi came as a complete surprise to me. I never wanted to do a fraternity and I only came to the rush events for the free food. However, I had been friends with Henry before rush week and I really liked him and in fact all the older bros, so I decided to pledge. Pledging was an amazing experience and it taught me things about myself I really needed to learn. I would say that pledging Pi Delta Psi was definitely one of the better choices Ive made in my short time here at NYU, and it has definitely gotten me more involved in my overall community. Pledge Pi Delta Psi I can assure you you wont regret it.

RANGER

Well lets see. In Texas, lets face it there werent really many people of Asian descent. For the most part my friends were either white, Hispanic, or black. Thus I set out for a change of scenery and chose to go to New York.

When I got here it was a bit of system shock meeting so many Asians, but I still did not have a real hold on what it meant to be Asian. That is why I sought out PDPsi for it represented something familiar in the sense that I went to a school of all guys that preached brotherhood and unity. As a result I respected the fraternity part for its close ties. The other part would be so that I could come to explore what it means to be Asian.

Jann first came to NYU as a junior transfer student into Stern from Sunway  University College in Malaysia. It was a pretty amazing switch, and one of  the best decisions he's made in his life. The process was a crazy ride that  gave him 4 PBs, an awesome EVIL big (where's my gear andy!!), and taught  him the value of family, brotherhood, and perseverance.  Coming to NYC has been a dream come true. The city, the people, and  everything in it has changed his perspective on life; opening up his view on  life, being so much bigger than the old ring roads in KL. He plans to use  his position at NYU and the city to pursue a career in either Finance or  Consulting, positions where he believes he will be able to tangibly and  lucratively impact businesses and communities. Jann is very thankful for the  opportunities he has received, created, and taken in life, and wants to use  the experiences he has, and is learning from PDPsi to further challenge  himself in life. I pledged Pi Delta Psi out of love for the brothers, also because I had a lot of time on my hands and was extremely bored. It turned out to be an amazing decision and I have not regretted it for a moment since crossing. The brothers are a great bunch and they know how to have a good time. I've made some great friends during my time at PDPsi and learned a lot of valuable lessons while pledging. Note that everything I wrote about how great the brothers were does not apply to my pledge brother, Timmy Chen. I hate him.

I am fantastically good looking, intelligent, diesel, and not at all egotistical. In my free time I enjoy saving orphans from burning buildings and feeding starving children in Africa. I am also mad good at limbo. Seriously. I am mad good. I think by now it's plain to see that I take very few things seriously. However, brotherhood is one of them. AY

I've been asked by a lot of people why I chose to pledge and join a fraternity. I had no intention whatsoever of joining a fraternity when I came to college, perhaps just like you. However, I was introduced to PDPsi by a brother all the way out at Carnegie Mellon, one of my close friends from long ago. His words were, “if you join PDPsi, we can be REAL Xiong Di!” So I blindly pledged and found a thick and lasting network of support from the bros and my pledge bros.

Pledging teaches you life lessons such as sacrifice and unity, as well as improves willpower. There is a reason that over 1,600 people have pledged and joined PDPsi. If you want to see for yourself, come out to one of the rush events, or talk to any of the brothers. Plus, we have one hell of a good time.
